About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise data platforms that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Platform Architecture: Architect and oversee the deployment of scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure for large organizations.
  • Innovation and Adoption: Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools for data ingestion, processing, and governance.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers, providing technical leadership, code reviews, and career development support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to align data engineering initiatives with business objectives.
  • Technical Excellence: Establish and enforce data engineering best practices, defining standards for pipeline architecture, data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Communication: Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, communicating technical concepts and business impacts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in programming, automation, and orchestration, including Python and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Data Storage and Processing: Deep understanding of data storage, processing, and governance, including data warehousing, Lakehouse architectures, and real-time streaming.
  • Scalability and Security: Proven ability to build and deploy scalable data systems, ensuring robust, production-grade data platforms on GCP.
  • Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies, including Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/sub, or similar for large-scale data processing.
  • Security and Compliance: Strong security and compliance expertise, implementing and enforcing security controls, encryption, audit logging for data systems, and compliance standards.
  • Communication and Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, articulating technical concepts and business value to diverse audiences.
