Senior Big Data Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Big Data Engineer to lead our data engineering teams and drive innovation in big data technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing cross-team collaboration, architecting scalable data pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration with various data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead distributed data engineering teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Manage cross-team collaboration with architects, product managers, and operations teams.
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark, Python, and other big data technologies.
  • Migrate existing data infrastructure to modern platforms, leveraging deep knowledge of HDFS internals.
  • Implement schema evolution, ACID transactions, and time travel using Apache Iceberg or similar table formats.
  • Run Spark and/or Flink jobs on Kubernetes, utilizing experience with container orchestration.
  • Build ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm) for provisioning data infrastructure.
  • Cultivate strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
