Automation Design Engineer Role

As a key contributor to our automation design team, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and developing innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Your expertise in 3D design and modeling, 2D drafting and detailing, concept development, product customization, and interdepartmental coordination will be essential in ensuring seamless project execution.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD software such as CATIA, Autocad, and Solidworks, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality automation designs that cater to diverse customer requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and Developing Automation Equipment
  • Preparing assemblies and sub-assemblies with proper constraints and motion studies
  • Generating detailed 2D manufacturing drawings including dimensions, tolerances (GD&T), BOMs, and material specs
  • Ensuring drawings are aligned with manufacturing and assembly requirements
  • Modifying standard designs based on client-specific requirements or production feedback
  • Coordinating with production, purchase, electrical, and controls departments for seamless project execution
  • Providing support during machine assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Performing basic design validation using motion simulation or load checks in CAD
  • Maintaining organized project documentation including BOMs, part lists, and revision control
