PHP Lead Job Description

The PHP lead is a senior role responsible for overseeing the development of PHP applications and guiding team members in adopting best practices.

  • Develop complex PHP applications with strong understanding of core PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Utilize CodeIgniter frameworks, both legacy and modern versions, to drive application development.
  • Employ proficient Python skills to enhance application functionality.
  • Design, optimize, and manage MySQL databases with hands-on experience.
  • Implement JavaScript (ES6+) for client-side functionality and backend integration.
  • Perform thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, readability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code reliability and regression prevention.
  • Employ Git for version control, branching, and collaborative development.
  • Integrate with RESTful APIs for consuming and creating endpoints.
  • Tune performance on both frontend and backend with understanding of performance optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • Guide team members in adopting best practices in coding, testing, and DevOps.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address them.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advocate for best engineering practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and architectural diagrams.
