Trade Finance Professional

We are seeking an experienced Trade Finance expert to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). As a Trade Finance SME, you will be responsible for providing domain expertise and guiding the development of trade finance products. You will also ensure compliance with international trade finance standards.

  1. You will act as the domain expert for trade finance in platform development, ensuring alignment with banking practices and regulatory compliance.
  2. You will define and validate workflows for trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit, Bills of Exchange, Invoices, Bills of Lading, and Import/Export documentation.
  3. You will provide compliance and regulatory inputs, including UCP 600, ISBP, FEMA, AML, KYC, OFAC, and ICC guidelines.
  4. You will collaborate with product, technology, and client teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  5. You will validate AI/ML-driven outputs such as OCR accuracy, anomaly detection, and classification of trade documents.
  6. You will support Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), audit, and risk assessments from a trade finance domain perspective.
  7. You will prepare use-case scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria for new product features.
  8. You will assist in client onboarding discussions, demos, and training sessions.
  9. You will advise on business continuity requirements for trade finance operations.
  10. You will stay updated on the latest trade finance trends, regulations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in trade finance operations, compliance, or consulting, preferably in a banking or financial institution background.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade finance instruments such as LC, BG, invoice financing, and supply chain finance.
  • Strong understanding of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, AML/KYC, FEMA regulations, and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Experience working with core banking/trade finance platforms such as Finacle Trade, EximBills, and TI Plus.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business teams and technical developers.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience working with digital transformation or fintech products is an added advantage.
