Job Description

Our organization seeks a skilled Linux software repository maintainer to ensure the integrity of our software repository. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing updates, patches, and upgrades.

The selected individual will work on maintaining the repository, handling tasks such as compiling software from source code, creating software patches, and reviewing changes.

A strong understanding of Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python is required, along with proficiency in build system tools like autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, scons, and git.

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise and excellent troubleshooting skills. Additionally, knowledge of Slackware Linux is a significant advantage, although not mandatory.

">Required Skills & Qualifications
  1. Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python
  • Knowledge of build system tools like autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, scons, and git
  • Compiling and creating software from source code
  • Patching - creating / providing / managing software patches
  • Ability to understand and create Makefiles as necessary
  • Maintaining Changelogs and other documentation
  • Providing bug fixes. Debugging with gdb if needed
  • Reviewing changes
  • Knowledge of cvs and git
  • Connect with upstream developer for solutions if needed to get issues resolved
Non-Technical Skills:
  • Should be fluent in english with good verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Should be able to resolve assigned tasks in the specified time-frame/deadlines
Knowledge of Slackware Linux is highly desirable but not essential Candidates with matching skill set will be shortlisted and contacted via phone for a technical interview
