Job Opportunity: Dam Health Specialist

  • This role involves overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive dam health assessment and risk management framework.
  • The successful candidate will review instrumentation action plans, finalize them concerning SCADA, and Surveillance & Control Systems, and provide technical support for the establishment of Centralized Control and Command Centres.
  • The specialist will oversee data collection, transmission, processing, and analysis, and finalize outcome report protocols, ensuring proper Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of established instrumentation at dams.
  • This position requires managing technical hardware, software, and data transmission for all instrumentation plans, preparing technical bid documents, defining qualifying criteria for instrumentation and monitoring systems, and conducting third-party Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance (CS&QA) inspections.
  • The ideal candidate will facilitate capacity building of Internal Auditors through customized training programs, contribute to the revision of existing guidelines and formulation of new guidelines related to instrumentation and monitoring, and provide inputs for the National Website for dam safety information.
  • This role also involves supporting the development of in-house expertise at select Academic Institutes, developing Training Calendars for implementation and customized training programs on Instrumentation and Monitoring Systems, conducting need-based inspections of dams, and accompanying Design Specification Review Panels for special dam safety issues.
