Financial Operations Specialist

As a key member of our team, the Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and improving fund accounting processes. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for enhancement and implementing process improvements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of financial operations, including fund accounting principles, financial instruments, and reporting requirements. They will also have experience working with fund administration systems and proficient in Excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools.

- Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze requirements to drive business decisions.
- Understand hedge fund accounting workflows, including NAV calculation, trade capture, cash/position reconciliations, performance fees, and investor allocations.
- Collaborate with Fund Accounting teams to document functional and technical requirements for system enhancements.
- Process & System Improvements
- Enhance fund accounting platforms through collaboration with technology teams.
- Identify gaps, streamline reconciliations, automate manual processes, and improve data integrity.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of hedge fund accounting concepts: NAV, accruals, P&L attribution, fee structures (management & incentive/performance), side pockets, share classes.
- Experience with fund administration systems.
- Business analysis skills: requirements gathering, process modeling, UAT, documentation.
- Understanding of financial instruments: equities, fixed income, derivatives (swaps, options, futures, FX).
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reporting tools for data analysis.
