The General Manager of Medical Affairs will oversee the medical affairs strategy at Ajanta, focusing on providing robust medico-marketing support and facilitating collaboration between the medical and marketing teams. This role encompasses the development of medical materials, training programs, and evaluation of new products, ensuring alignment with the company's business goals and compliance with regulatory standards.
This position plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth by leveraging medical expertise to inform product development and positioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing medical references and data to support product positioning and new product research and development (NPD).
- Supporting the marketing team with regular inputs and strategic advice on promotional activities to ensure accurate messaging and compliance.
- Preparing comprehensive product manuals, product monographs, and training slides to enhance understanding and communication of product benefits.
- Developing and preparing Continuing Medical Education (CME) slides and materials to support ongoing education initiatives.
- Evaluating new product ideas and presentations, providing insights and recommendations to the marketing and business development teams.
- Conducting medical training sessions for field staff to ensure they are well-informed about products and therapeutic areas.
- Actively participating in clinical studies to gather relevant data and insights that inform medical affairs strategies.
- Conducting evaluations of competitors' new products and strategies, providing analysis to inform company positioning and development efforts.
- Monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging science to provide insights that drive strategic decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An advanced degree in life sciences (MBBS, MD) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in medical affairs or related fields, with a focus on marketing support and product evaluation.
- A strong understanding of regulatory requirements, clinical development processes, and the therapeutic landscape relevant to the company's products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess data and inform strategic decisions.
