Job Summary:

The Technical Director for Rail Signalling will play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy for rail signalling and telecommunications within Arcadis. This role involves leading a team of engineering professionals and optimizing our service delivery to meet the demands of projects across multiple geographies. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior management and business units to integrate technical solutions into the overall strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and drive the technical strategy for Rail Signalling and telecom systems within Arcadis.
  2. Build and retain a highly skilled and diverse team, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term workforce needs.
  3. Collaborate with senior management and business units to integrate technical solutions into the overall strategic vision.
  4. Lead the design, development, and implementation of rail signalling systems across various projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
  5. Oversee and manage a team of engineering and BIM professionals, providing leadership and fostering professional growth.
  6. Drive a culture of project delivery excellence, ensuring that technical resources are effectively utilized and aligned with project requirements.
  7. Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior staff, various BA leaders, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  8. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in rail signalling systems and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Requirements:
  1. Diploma / Bachelor's in Electrical / Electronic/ Communications / Computer Engineering.
  2. 15+ years of experience in rail signalling, with a proven track record in leading large-scale Rail Signalling projects in Netherlands/UK/Australia.
  3. Chartership with reputed international professional bodies is preferred.
  4. Professional certifications related to rail signaling (e.g., IRSE license).
  5. Extensive knowledge of latest signaling systems such as CBTC, ERTMS/ETCS, or similar.
  6. Extensive knowledge in Dutch Railway Signalling Systems.
  7. Significant experience in managing and growing a technical business function within a multinational engineering company.
