Job Overview

The position of Scala Developer is responsible for designing and developing large-scale, distributed data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and related technologies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable and efficient Scala code following best practices.
  • Design and implement data structures and algorithms to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify, troubleshoot and resolve data issues.
  • Participate in Agile environment, scrum daily standups, sprint planning reviews and retrospectives.
  • Translate project requirements into technical solutions meeting quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 8+ years of experience in Scala programming language.
  • Expertise in Spark Core, Spark SQL and Spark Streaming.
  • Experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Hive and other BigData technologies.
  • Database concepts and SQL/NoSQL operations expertise.
  • UNIX shell scripting for scheduling/running application jobs (advantageous).
