Job Title: Data Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Cloud Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Snowflake data warehouse environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Snowflake architecture and database models, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Administer and manage Snowflake data warehouse environments, performing routine tasks such as backups, restores, and patching.
  • Optimize Snowflake queries and data storage for performance and cost efficiency, leveraging expertise in SQL and query optimization techniques.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime for critical business applications, utilizing tools for database monitoring and alerting.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data processes, ensuring seamless integration between Snowflake and other databases/systems.
  • Implement security policies for Snowflake, including user roles, permissions, and access control mechanisms, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including query performance, data consistency, and system outages, using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform database upgrades and manage Snowflake lifecycle, ensuring that the environment is up-to-date with the latest features and patches.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of automated data processes, including monitoring and alerting, using automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for Snowflake architecture, best practices, and operational procedures, providing valuable insights and knowledge to the team.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake database administration or working with cloud-based data warehousing technologies, preferably with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, experience with writing optimized queries, and proficiency in query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Snowflake architecture, clustering, and data partitioning strategies, as well as data loading and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with data integration between Snowflake and other platforms, solid understanding of database performance tuning techniques, and knowledge of data security principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure in production environments, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
