The role of a Fundraising Director is to lead the organization’s fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with High Net Worth Individuals, Family Offices, Corporate/CSR partners, Foundations, and digital/community giving platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development:
    • Create a 3-year fundraising strategy with segment-wise targets.
    • Design multi-year giving vehicles (anchor gifts, challenge funds, catalytic grants, cause marketing, events, peer-to-peer).
    • Built a balanced pipeline (early/mid/late stage)
  • Partnerships & External Relations:
    • Secure strategic MOUs with corporations (CSR & brand), foundations, and high-influence networks in India and abroad.
    • Co-create bespoke propositions (naming opportunities, programmatic investments, research/endowment funds).
  • Brand & Communications:
    • Partner with Communications to run an integrated brand + fundraising calendar.
    • Oversee investment-grade proposals, decks, impact reports; ensure crisp narratives and strong evidence.
  • Team Management & Governance:
    • Lead fundraising efforts across the organization.
    • Implement a CRM or DMS (Salesforce/Zoho or equivalent).
    • Establish clear SOPs, approval matrices, and data hygiene.
  • Budgeting, Reporting & KPIs:
    • Track ROI by channel.
    • Provide monthly dashboards: funds raised vs target, pipeline health, donor retention/upgrade.

Success Metrics:

  • Board-approved 3-year strategy and year-1 operating plan with segment-wise targets.
  • Live CRM with qualified prospects.
  • Signed commitments from HNIs, corporate/CSR partners, and international foundations.
  • Strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Master's in Marketing/Business/Communications or related; fundraising certifications a plus.
  • 8–10+ years of direct fundraising with a proven major-gifts and institutional track record (India & international).
  • Experience launching or scaling new initiatives.
  • Strong grasp of donor management, digital marketing, brand positioning, and campaign/event orchestration.
  • Regulatory fluency and governance sensibility.
