Design and Engineering Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee our design and engineering support team for railway axle counter solutions.

The role demands in-depth technical expertise in fail-safe signalling products, embedded systems, and RAMS analysis, combined with the ability to engage with stakeholders across Indian Railways and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for design and engineering activities related to railway axle counter solutions, ensuring compliance with safety, signalling standards, and RAMS requirements.
  • Lead validation and verification (V&V) activities, including First Time Right (FTR) checks, to ensure quality and fail-safe product performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including RDSO and SAG level railway officers, to address design, compliance, and product approval requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of product failures, propose corrective actions, and drive engineering improvements.
  • Manage engineering documentation, design reports, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for project management, design support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support embedded system-based product development with a focus on innovation and reliability.

Requirements:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication (ECE) or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years' experience in railway signalling domain.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fail-safe signalling product design (HW/SW) and embedded systems.
  • Hands-on understanding of EN, IEC, IS standards and railway signalling concepts.
  • Expertise in RAMS methodologies, including MTBF, RBD, FTA, and reliability calculations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proven ability in project management, root cause analysis, and stakeholder liaisoning.
