Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to manage procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) on behalf of our client. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure high-quality, cost-effective materials.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry. They will possess excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, as well as a deep understanding of global regulatory requirements for API sourcing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.
  • Negotiating pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Managing end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with internal teams (quality assurance, regulatory, and supply chain) to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, etc.) for API sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
