The Operations Division is the engine room that powers Goldman Sachs, and Operations Engineering is driving their industrialization through automation, digitization and orchestration. Derivative Process Engineering's goal is to partner with the Operations, Business groups and other technology teams to build well modeled, scalable and highly performant platforms to support middle office functions for OTC Derivatives products globally.

Your impact will be to design and develop strategic applications as we look to re-architect our flows to be future ready. You will be joining a global team of technologists that are continually innovating to deliver solutions for our clients and impact the firm's bottom line. This role will provide a unique opportunity to develop your technical skills and gain functional knowledge from a domain perspective. Learning, teamwork, partnering with stakeholders, product ownership, working with very large data, designs, technical expertise and user experience are all aspects where you could make an impact or further develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the re-architecture of our flows to build strategic platforms
  • Participate in all the aspects of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Evolving the Derivative Process Engineering platform to meet business, client, regulatory, operational, technical needs
  • Gaining technical expertise and practical experience of managing mission critical platforms from technical experts within and outside the team
  • Working closely with Business, Operations users and other developers globally
  • Excellent opportunity to gain strong domain knowledge on aspects related to derivative products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 2.5 years of professional development experience
  • Demonstrable core Java (JDK 8 and above) development experience (solid understanding of Core Java concepts and design patterns)
  • Ability to come up with design for solving complex business/technical problems
  • Object oriented design/development
  • RESTful web services
  • Strong technical, analytical and communication skills; must be a self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial markets
  • UNIX environment working experience
  • NoSQL DB such as Mongo
  • Big data technology stack
