Lead Technical Direction for Scalable Data Platform

Our organization seeks a seasoned Data Engineering Manager to spearhead the technical vision for our high-performance data platform in clinical oncology or healthcare. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in areas such as data architecture, ETL, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, coupled with essential soft skills like leadership, communication, problem-solving, business acumen, and project management.

  • Oversee the design and maintenance of data systems, ensuring they are modular, flexible, secure, and reliable.
  • Manage the development, testing, deployment, and ongoing upkeep of data solutions.
  • Instrumentation and Monitoring: Integrate pipeline observability to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Develop tools and processes to debug, optimize, and maintain production systems.
  • Tech Debt Reduction: Identify and address legacy inefficiencies to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve unknown issues across complex systems.
  • Documentation and Governance: Maintain clear documentation of data models, transformations, and pipelines to ensure security and governance compliance.

The successful candidate will have advanced technical skills in AWS, Python, Terraform, and AI technologies, with experience leading and mentoring engineering teams. They will also be able to align technical solutions with business objectives and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
