Senior Data Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data systems, including data flows, architecture, and technical specifications.
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve existing systems.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data systems.
  • Proven expertise in SQL, Python, and related data processing tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including Athena, Redshift, EC2, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue, and other relevant technologies.
  • Experience working with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and GitHub CI/CD for version control and deployments.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles, best practices, and database design.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) and familiarity with Hive and Iceberg table formats.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools and ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
