Trainee Blood Bank

At Aster Medcity, we're looking for a skilled and dedicated professional to join our blood bank team.

Job Summary:

  • Participate in a comprehensive training program that includes classroom instruction and hands-on experience in blood bank operations.
  • Attend workshops and training sessions to learn about blood collection, processing, and testing procedures.
  • Develop expertise in blood donation processes, donor eligibility criteria, and infection control practices.
  • Assist in laboratory testing procedures, including blood typing, cross-matching, and disease screening.
  • Learn to operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in blood testing.
  • Contribute to maintaining the quality and safety of blood and blood products.
  • Identify and address quality control issues and deviations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to blood collection, testing, and processing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in managing blood inventory, including storage, labeling, and tracking.
  • Ensure the availability and traceability of blood products.
  • Stay updated on regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures in the blood bank.
  • Collaborate with blood bank staff and healthcare professionals to exchange information and insights.
  • Develop effective communication skills for working in a healthcare environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal education in a relevant field (e.g., medical laboratory technology).
  • Relevant work experience in a healthcare setting or blood bank.
  • Strong understanding of blood banking principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
