Renewable Energy Specialist Job Description

This is a comprehensive role that involves the development of electrical designs for battery-based energy storage systems.

  1. Develop Electrical Designs: Develop electrical designs for PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA systems with a deep understanding of their interconnections.
  2. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable USA codes, standards, and regulations by performing thorough reviews and audits to verify technical documentation and installations.
  3. Stay Updated: Stay updated on the latest developments in battery technologies, including fundamental aspects and key characteristics, to optimize system performance.
  4. Collaborate with Vendors: Collaborate with vendors to review and validate technical documents, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality deliverables.
  5. Test and Validate: Plan, coordinate, and execute FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and integration test plans for BESS systems, driving excellence in quality and efficiency.
  6. Lead Projects: Lead project management initiatives, overseeing bids and projects from inception to completion, fostering strong client relationships and delivering exceptional results.
  7. Electrical Testing: Conduct thorough electrical testing, adhering to industry best practices and safety protocols.
  8. Training and Development: Participate in manufacturer-provided training sessions, enhancing skills and knowledge to drive innovation and excellence.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field, with Ph.D. holders also welcome.
  • Strong ability to read, comprehend, and apply electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical knowledge/training experience in BESS.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Effective client management, team management, and process management skills.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with other electrical and PV software tools.
