Legal Professional

The Legal Professional plays a pivotal role in ensuring that an organization operates within the boundaries of the law. This involves providing expert legal counsel, guaranteeing compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and managing litigation to protect the organization's interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Management: Offer timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior management, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Contract and Document Oversight: Draft, review, and verify legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
  • Litigation Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
  • Policy Development: Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing internal policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.
  • Grievance Resolution: Serve as a member secretary for committees, such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment, and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council registration.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum six years of experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization, preferably in the education sector, demonstrating hands-on application of legal knowledge.
  • Possesses strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
