Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop repeatable systems for scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to architect and implement cloud-enabled systems, ensuring seamless integration with legacy tools.
  • Work closely with software engineers and platform engineers to optimize system performance, velocity, and observability.
  • Guide the design and implementation of Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and error budgets, ensuring production services meet stringent reliability standards.
  • Provide expert support and creatively solve complex engineering problems across the tech stack.
  • Participate in a shared on-call schedule managed across the Engineering department.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to boost efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Develop and mentor new hires and other engineers through example, tech talks, paired programming, and other training avenues.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience working in DevOps or SRE roles, or software development, with an understanding of Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud platforms GCP, AWS, Azure, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in server-side software engineering using languages such as Python, Go, Java, BASH, etc.
  • Strong design experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and related technologies.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring and alerting, focusing on performance monitoring, tracing instrumentation, SLI/SLO/SLAs.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
  • Excellent communication skills across engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike.
