Job Opportunity:

Work as a Research Associate in policy research and data analysis, supporting state government institutions to design and implement evidence-based policies.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will conduct applied research on economic growth, statistics, and public policy issues, analyse large datasets, and draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations for decision-makers. The role involves engaging with government officials, industry leaders, and academic stakeholders, contributing to roundtables, workshops, and consultations on policy challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct applied research on economic growth, statistics, and public policy issues
  • Analyse large datasets and apply econometric/statistical techniques for policy insights
  • Draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations for decision-makers
  • Engage with government officials, industry leaders, and academic stakeholders
  • Contribute to roundtables, workshops, and consultations on policy challenges
  • Support project design, proposal development, research project management and internal capability building
  • Work with other researchers to ensure high-quality outputs

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters, MPhil, or PhD in Economics, Statistics, or related fields from a reputed institution
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in policy research, data analysis, consulting, or academia
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and econometrics (Stata/R/Python)
  • Demonstrated ability to design and independently manage research projects
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Adherence to research timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced policy environment
  • Preference given to candidates with prior work experience in state-level or applied policy research, especially in Madhya Pradesh
