Job Overview

We are seeking an Expert Bridge Consultant to undertake assessments of existing bridges and prepare assessment reports with experience in Steel Composite, Pretension/Posttension structures.

The ideal candidate will carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair, prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out design and assessment checks under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  • Prepare or assist others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence within given deadlines including checking compliance with the project brief.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of document control and QA processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.
  • Produce work to specified standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate and ensure all relevant standards and guides are used in accordance with UK Design standards and QA processes.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, including knowledge of MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM and ARCHIE, and be able to share knowledge with colleagues and teams.

They will also participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information and communicate with other teams.
