Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational workflow for Imports and Exports departments, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
  • Manage cargo delivery to customers with priority on speed and reliability.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all governing bodies.
  • Lead shift managers and their teams, monitor performance metrics, and maintain quality, timelines, and communication standards.
  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and identify areas for improvement, proposing automation and process optimization.
  • Handle escalations, exceptions, and operational issues during shipment processing.
  • Provide regular feedback, training, and development sessions to enhance operational thinking and team ownership.
  • Identify inefficiencies and data integrity issues, developing improvement plans and recommending best practices.
  • Coordinate seamless collaboration with service providers.

Financial and Accounting Objectives:

  • Establish team goals in alignment with company objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Use established financial tools and indicators to track performance, revenue, expenses, and job numbers.
  • Ensure timely accounting closure, maximizing revenue and maintaining efficient branch operations.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Motivate and lead operations teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and conduct quarterly performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations, training, and succession planning.
  • Assist in hiring and terminating employees as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

\
  • Proficiency in freight forwarding procedures and financial management: TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (preferably Commerce, International Trade, Logistics)
  • 5+ years of industry experience with a focus on freight forwarding.
  • 2+ years of team management experience, including supervising team leads or shift managers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and customer service mindset.
  • Results-driven and highly motivated individual.
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to handle complex problems and multitask efficiently.
