Job Overview

This position is a hands-on role that requires solid technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities to manage multiple clients across various Oracle versions and platforms, ensuring operational readiness for both on-premises and cloud-based environments.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of large-scale database environments.

Key Responsibilities

Implement, configure, maintain and perform critical Oracle RDBMS systems, including Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Develop and sustain multiple clients across various Oracle versions and platforms.
  • Ensure operational readiness (security, health, and performance) for both on-premises and cloud-based Oracle environments.
  • Manage Oracle databases on OCI, including provisioning, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Lead and support end-to-end cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to OCI.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate).
  • Monitor and tune performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL tuning tools.
  • Automate database operations using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible).
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and application teams to support hybrid and cloud-native deployments.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness across Exadata and OCI environments.
  • Participate in capacity planning, cloud migration strategies, and architecture reviews.
  • Provide on-call support and participate in scheduled maintenance windows.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A strong background in database administration with at least 8 years of production database support experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting large-scale database environments.
  • Proven experience with Oracle Exadata systems, including design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB).
  • Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate and Data Guard.
  • Experience working in UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • Public Cloud experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) required; OCI certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in cloud migration of Oracle databases to OCI, including provisioning, backup, restore, and performance optimization.
