Database Management and Migration Specialist

Job Description:

As a Database Management and Migration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and high performance of our databases. Your primary objective will be to design, develop, install, tune, deploy, secure, migrate, and upgrade database management systems installations. This includes monitoring database performance, identifying, and resolving database issues.

  • Develop comprehensive migration plans to move on-premises databases to Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, System, and Database administrators to ensure seamless database integration.
  • Implement robust database encryption, index, and filegroup management strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing secure database architectures.
  • Migrating databases across Cloud and On-Prem platforms with minimal downtime.
  • Providing guidance and support to Developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge in database programming languages (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience in working with Cloud-based database services (AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling concepts.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology field with 6-8 years of experience in Database Administration or Development.
  • Relevant database certifications on cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
