Housekeeping Supervisor Job Summary

The ideal candidate for this Housekeeping Supervisor role will be responsible for supervising the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures in a hotel setting. This includes ensuring that bedroom, bathroom, valet, cleaning, and linen services are delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures;
  • Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems;
  • Ensure effective shift handovers and distribute/collect keys as required;
  • Perform room allocations and inspections, prioritizing arrival rooms;
  • Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements;
  • Assist Floor public area supervisors in completing their tasks on time;
  • Ensure consistency within the department and complete stock takes as required;
  • Coordinate with supervisors for effective housekeeping operations;
  • Conduct briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known to employees.

Accountability
The successful candidate will have direct supervision over the Housekeeping Team Leader, Linen Room Supervisor, and Housekeeping Desk Coordinator, with indirect supervision of other staff members.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, brand, and company;
  • Good writing skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office;
  • Problem-solving, motivating, organizational, and training abilities;
  • Strong Leadership skills in managing teams.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Hotel Administration or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity, including supervisory experience.
