Lead Data Scientist Role Overview

The goal of this Lead Data Scientist position is to contribute cutting-edge expertise in machine learning and data analytics to drive innovative solutions for our industry-leading map.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team focused on developing high-impact technologies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to innovate and develop advanced data-driven systems, leveraging their knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and data mining techniques.

  • Design and implement process automation within HERE Core Map processes utilizing Big Data infrastructure and machine learning.
  • Develop and test statistical models to enhance internal data-driven processes and system performance.
  • Function as an expert in predictive analysis, acting as a champion for data science methodologies across the organization.
Requirements
  • Hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with a focus on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in a related field.
  • Proven skills in data mining and analytic methods, including regression, classification, clustering, association rules, decision trees, and Bayesian network analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, and SQL.
  • Experience working with Hadoop and/or Spark for big data processing.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively explain complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Development experience with Scala and Docker.
  • Knowledge of GIS data and NoSQL databases (e.g. DynamoDB).
