We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge scientific instruments.

  • Develop compact vacuum chambers, precise motion stages, serviceable enclosures, and safety interlocks that prioritize speed, stability, and serviceability.

Pioneer Instrumentation Innovation:

  • Lead the mechanical architecture of our flagship product, a Scanning Electron Microscope.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optics, electronics, mechanics, and software, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design for Manufacturability: Develop precision electromechanical systems.
  • Assemble and Test Playbook: Create fixtures, torque specs, metrology checks, and drive it from prototype to pilot builds.
  • Supplier Partnerships: Qualify and scale India-based and global suppliers, focusing on yield and finish quality improvements.
  • System-Level Integration: Lead the integration of various systems, balancing optics, electronics, thermal, acoustic, and safety needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering precision electromechanical systems - scientific instruments, automation, or similar.
  • Comfortable with vacuum practice, precision motion, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design for manufacturability.
  • Hands-on problem-solver with an eye for ergonomics and field-service.

Success Metrics:

  • Fast, reliable sample-to-image experience in the lab and at customer sites.
  • High first-time-pass on mechanical acceptance checks.
  • Robust local supply chain for key mechanical parts.
