Job Title: Tax Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Specialist to join our dynamic tax team. This is a full-time position that combines remote flexibility with in-office collaboration.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review US federal and state tax returns, including individual returns (Form 1040), corporate returns (Form 1120), and trust returns.
  • Analyze and apply relevant US tax treaty provisions to international tax matters.
  • Support preparation and filing of US sales tax returns and assist in state tax registrations.
  • Assist in tax planning for cross-border transactions and multinational clients.
  • Prepare organized and well-documented working papers for all tax filings.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams during IRS audits, including data collection and documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior tax staff and partners to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in US tax preparation, specifically 1040 and 1120 returns.
  • Prior experience in a public accounting firm or tax advisory role is preferred.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting or related field; Master of Commerce (M.Com) is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in tax software such as ProSystems FX, GoSystems, or Drake Tax.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
