Project Control Specialist

A Project Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The key to this success lies in meticulous planning, accurate scheduling, and effective communication with all stakeholders.

  • The ideal candidate will possess more than five years of experience in project control, specifically in the construction industry.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering or business administration, combined with relevant industry experience, is essential.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 and proficiency in Microsoft Office are mandatory.
  • The ability to multitask, work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks is crucial.
  • The specialist must be able to analyze project trends over the project lifecycle, identify areas requiring improvement, and implement corrective actions.

Schedule Management

  • The candidate will create, update, and manage project schedules using MS Project and/or P6.
  • Support project managers and directors in budget preparation, schedule development, and bid proposal activities.
  • Perform data integrity checks and auditing to ensure accuracy of schedule reporting.

Reporting and Communication

  • The specialist will submit weekly/monthly reports highlighting variances from current baseline schedules.
  • Collaborate with the project team, construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather progress data.

Project Portfolio Management

  • The candidate will maintain accurate reporting and tracking on various projects to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Monitor and control the portfolio of projects across Canada.

Requirements

  • More than five years of experience in project control.
  • University degree or diploma in engineering or business administration.
  • Expert in Primavera P6.
  • Proficient in Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Project.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE International's Earned Value Professional (EVP) are a plus.
