In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and Implementation: Translate customer requirements into detailed designs and specifications for the development of software and hardware components.
  • Software Development: Write, test, and debug system software using programming languages such as C or C++.
  • Code Review: Review and improve code quality, ensuring it meets the highest standards of reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • System Analysis and Optimization: Analyze and enhance the efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Integration and Validation: Integrate and validate new product designs, ensuring they meet technical specifications and performance requirements.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide post-production support, including troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of existing products.
  • Hardware Interface: Collaborate with hardware design and development teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
  • Third-Party Software Assessment: Evaluate third-party and open-source software for suitability and compatibility with our products.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Experience: Proven experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
  • Programming Skills: Solid programming experience in C or C++.
  • Embedded Systems Expertise: Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems, as well as adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
  • Documentation and Communication: Strong documentation and writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Specific Experience: Experience with NXP iMX8 SoC, Car Infotainment systems (WiFi, Bluetooth, USB setup), and Touch Display systems.
