Ar Collections Specialist Job Overview

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Ar Collections Specialist to fill this challenging position. As a collections specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing customer aging reports, pursuing collection of outstanding invoices, and collaborating with internal sales teams to ensure timely payment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer aging reports to identify areas for improvement and pursue collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Monitor aged accounts and work closely with internal sales teams to resolve issues.
  • Draft and send collections letters to customers with outstanding balances.
  • Prepare documentation for credit or debit memos and oversee the clean-up of unapplied receipts and short paid invoices.
  • Address customer complaints and coordinate audits of invoicing and collections activity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three years of hands-on collections experience.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting system is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
