Job Title: Category Manager - Fast Moving Consumer Goods

 

Key Responsibilities of the Job: The role holder will be responsible for managing a team of purchasing officers and assistants to source FMCG products from national and regional vendors. He/she shall ensure smooth business operations by coordinating with various teams including Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase and Central purchase.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the entire region comprising of approx 20 - 30 stores.
  • Leading a team of 8 - 10 members for buying National & Regional FMCG brands.
  • Conducting classroom training and On-The-Job training for the team members.
  • Developing and grooming team members reporting into him/her.
  • Coordinating and addressing challenges in buying and movement of goods from vendor to DC and DC to stores.
  • Meeting Key vendor partners on regular basis for negotiations, forecasting and category development initiatives.
  • Closely working with various teams including Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase and Central purchase.
  • Discussing and closing Monthly, Quarterly plans with FMCG vendors.
  • Training and grooming Purchase officers and Asst Purchase managers.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 years experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience in General Trade will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of local language/location of posting is required.
  • Good communication, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Team management and training skills as he/she will be managing a large team.
