About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at PayU. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24x7x365 on-call support to manage and execute incident management processes.
- Respond quickly and effectively to service failure alerts and notifications from various systems.
- Conduct impact and severity assessments of service failures, both internally and externally.
- Manage downtime or other service disruptions against SLA targets and escalate as necessary.
- Accurately track progress and escalations on issues within internal ticketing systems.
- Update merchants and internal stakeholders on the status of any service outage via phone, email, or ticketing tools.
- Notify merchants of planned maintenance through email.
- Manage outcomes of reason for outage (RFO/RCA) and major incident reports (MIR) both internally and externally.
- Possess hands-on experience with databases (SQL) and Python/shell scripting.
- Develop software to automate repeatable operations tasks (TOIL).
- Implement SRE metrics and monitoring strategy (SLI, SLO, etc.).
- Schedule and lead continuous improvement activities, including incident reviews, change implementation reviews, TOIL automation candidate areas, etc.
- Ongoingly optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance service reliability based on post-incident reviews.
- Document knowledge gained to ensure seamless information flow between teams.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Patient and friendly attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work within a 24/7/365 shift pattern and rotational shifts.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL/Linux, Python/shell scripting, or code expertise.
- Knowledge of payment flows/processes.
- 2-5 years of experience.
- Mandatory SRE background with a focus on automation.
- Gurgaon/Pune/Mumbai location.
About the Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is ₹1200000 - ₹1800000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
