Release Manager Role

As a key member of the team, you will estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate deployment and configuration processes and activities. This includes designing, developing, and executing configuration and deployment scripts, identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly, and tracking maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain development, testing, and production environments rollouts
  • Manage complex application releases for development, QA, and production environments
  • Provide support on builds and aim to make the build and releases as automated as possible
  • Interact with development, QA team, and production support team to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community

You should have a passion for automation and agile methods. Collaboration with developers and architects is essential to refine build, test, and release practices across the programs. Additionally, you will manage multiple concurrent releases, builds, and deployments from development to production rollout.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Extensive engineering experience in development, security, and operations, with an emphasis on backend infrastructure (ideally 5-7 years)
  • Experience with Web Application Build, Deployment, and Release Management
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum development process
  • Experience with deployment installation technologies (e.g., InstallShield, NSIS)
  • Experience with CI/CD frameworks, platforms, tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Actions)
  • Experience with configuration management systems (e.g., svn, git)
  • Experience with Linux and Linux-based test applications and utilities (e.g., curl, netcat)
  • Experience with secure network protocol and web architectural styles (e.g., TLS, openssl, REST)

A background in identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management is desirable. Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), security and vulnerability platforms (e.g., OpenVAS, Metaspolit, Nessus), database technologies and scripting (e.g., relational, MongoDB, python, JavaScript), and pentesting platforms and frameworks (e.g., Kali, Blackbox) is also beneficial.
