As a seasoned Data Engineering leader, we're seeking an expert to spearhead our data pipeline initiatives using Azure and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize complex data pipelines leveraging Azure and Databricks.
  • Deliver hands-on expertise in Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) for continuous integration and deployment, as well as environment management.
  • Build and manage scalable ELT/ETL workflows with Databricks, Delta Lake, ADF, and other Azure services.
  • Continuously explore and apply new Databricks features to accelerate delivery and improve the overall data ecosystem.
  • Optimize Spark, SQL, and Python code for peak performance and scalability.
  • Promote software engineering best practices (e.g., TDD, CI/CD, modular design, code reviews) to ensure a robust, maintainable, and strategic data infrastructure.
  • Mentor team members to enhance overall team productivity and technical capability.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Azure & Databricks.
  • Proven expertise in:
  • Databricks (Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Workflows, Databricks Asset Bundles, MLflow basics, Unity Catalog)
  • Azure Data Services (ADF, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL)
  • Python, SQL, Spark (with demonstrated performance optimization skills)
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, governance)
  • A track record of efficient delivery and helping teams accelerate execution
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AI-driven development tools to accelerate coding, improve productivity, and maintain high-quality implementations
  • Exposure to Generative AI in Databricks (LLMOps, Model Serving, MosaicML, vector search)
Data Engineering Leadership
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the data engineering team
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and standards across the organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment
