Marine Operations Associate Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Marine Operations Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong attention to detail.

  • This is a full-time on-site role responsible for overseeing daily operations of the fleet.
  • The successful candidate will coordinate with various departments, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assist in the scheduling and execution of voyages.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Vessel Management: Ensure vessels meet charter party terms and conditions through daily monitoring and coordination with masters.
  2. Cargo Documentation: Collect cargo documents from vessels at load/discharge ports.
  3. Vessel Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and analyze vessel performance using charterers' performance formats.
  4. Invoicing and Claims: Prepare freight invoices and demurrage claims according to charter party terms.
  5. Log Submission: Ensure timely submission of deck and engine logs after each voyage.
  6. Financial Reporting: Raise monthly invoices for charter hire, freight, bunkers, and demurrage to charterers or brokers.
  7. Team Support: Assist the Vessel Operation Superintendent in day-to-day work for smooth vessel operation.
  8. Agency Selection: Agency selection, appointment, and approval of agents' PDA and FDA.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., maritime management, logistics).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
