Cloud Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure and scalable AWS infrastructure. They ensure high availability, performance and security of applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain secure and scalable AWS infrastructure using best practices.
  • Provide level 3 support for AWS environments including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch and Lambda.
  • Manage and optimize Amazon RDS instances, backup policies, multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, performance tuning and failover testing.
  • Migrate workloads from on-premises environments to AWS using AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service or DMS.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or CDK.
  • Automate system provisioning, configuration management and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Monitor system performance, availability and security using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, GuardDuty or AWS Security Hub.
  • Ensure compliance with cloud security standards and troubleshoot critical infrastructure and application issues.
  • Participate in disaster recovery, high availability and backup solution design for compute and database services.
  • Support DevOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, runbooks and standard operating procedures.
