Project Cost Estimator

As a skilled Project Cost Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of construction projects by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive capital cost estimates for construction projects, taking into account various factors such as materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Offer expert guidance on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to ensure project viability.
  • Create and draft contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Prepare pricing documents for tender packages and provide guidance on tendering procedures to ensure transparency and fairness.
  • Draft instructions to tenderers and develop tender evaluation criteria to assess bids effectively.
  • Evaluate commercial tenders, negotiate with tenderers, and determine amounts due to contractors to optimize project outcomes.
  • Monitor and track project costs, identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years).
  • Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes and ability to interpret drawings.
  • Chartered QS certification from a recognized organization (e.g., RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong IT literacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Able to coordinate with global teams across multiple locations.
