Faculty Position in Social Work

We are seeking a highly qualified professional to fill a faculty position in our Social Work department.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of teaching or field experience in social work and preferably hold a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).

  • Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate level lectures in Social Work, utilizing their expertise to engage students and foster a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Design and develop course materials and lesson plans that align with the curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive learning experience.
  • Supervise student research, fieldwork, and internships, providing guidance and support to help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, helping them navigate their academic journey and make informed decisions about their future careers.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, seminars, and publications, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in social work.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic initiatives, working collaboratively with colleagues to shape the future of the department and promote excellence in education.
  • Liaise with NGOs and community organizations for field placements and collaborations, fostering partnerships that enhance the educational experience and provide students with valuable opportunities for growth and development.
Qualifications
  • Master's in Social Work (MSW) from a recognized institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in the principles and practices of social work.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching or professional experience in the social work field, showcasing a commitment to the profession and a track record of success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and external partners.
Desirable Skills
  • Classroom and field-based teaching experience, with a focus on creating engaging and interactive learning environments.
  • Ability to integrate real-world social issues into academic instruction, providing students with a nuanced understanding of the complex challenges facing society.
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning, leveraging digital tools to enhance the educational experience and improve student outcomes.
