Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure and Database Administrator

This role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure solutions using Azure. Responsibilities include setup and maintenance of Azure Hybrid Cloud Core Infrastructure, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of MS SQL Server Database on Azure Cloud in a secure, high availability, and disaster recovery environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Azure Administration: Experience with creating and managing Azure subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, and storage accounts.
  • Cloud Security: Knowledge of Azure security services such as Azure Security Centre, Azure Defender, and Azure Sentinel.
  • Database Administration: Experience with MS SQL Server Database administration including migration, configuration, indexing strategies, backup and recovery procedures, and performance monitoring.
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and experience with automating routine administrative tasks.
  • Certifications: AZ-800: Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure, AZ-801: Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services, SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, DP-300: Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCDBA/Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Database certification.
  • Experience: Relevant 8-10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and database administration.
  • Personal Attributes: Good communication skills, team leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability.

  • Roles and Responsibilities: Create detailed design documents, architectural diagrams, and solution blueprints; organize resources; use management groups to manage access, policies, and compliance across multiple subscriptions; conduct assessments of current infrastructure and recommend cloud migration strategies.
  • Azure Administrator Activities Overview: Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate the application lifecycle; ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for Azure solutions; design and implement security best practices for Azure environments.
  • Azure AD Admin Activities: Implement identity and access management solutions using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD); manage and maintain the Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) environment; create, modify, and delete user accounts, groups, and roles.
  • Azure Network Admin Activities: Design and implement Azure network solutions, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups (NSGs), and routing configurations.
  • Azure Security Related Activities: Establish security policies, standards, and procedures for Azure environments; conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats.
  • MS SQL Server DBA Tasks: Migrating a database from on-premises to the Azure cloud; configuring database for optimal performance and security; indexing strategies for optimization & indexed views creation.
  • Other Tasks: Identify potential risks or issues before they escalate; dealing with customers for issues; embracing change, adapting quickly to shifting database needs or conditions.
