**Accounts Receivable Professional Role**
A collection manager is responsible for overseeing accounts receivable within an organization, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts from customers. They will work closely with the accounting department and collection agents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create effective strategies for collecting outstanding debts.
- Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and determine actions.
- Negotiate payment plans and resolve issues or disputes with customers.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities.
- Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on collections.
- Implement credit policies to minimize late payments or non-payment.
- Collaborate with legal counsel or external agencies as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- The candidate must be a chartered accountant/company secretary (CA/CS).
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical mindset to assess data and trends.
- Familiarity with collection software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
