Job Overview

The role of Database Developer entails designing, testing and implementing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL scripts, packages, procedures, functions and triggers. This position requires a solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL, with experience in crafting complex queries and optimizing them for performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy Oracle SQL and PL/SQL scripts, packages, procedures, functions and triggers.
  • Optimize and refine SQL queries to enhance efficiency and speed.
  • Collaborate closely with application developers to design, implement and maintain database solutions.
  • Analyze and resolve database-related issues, including data discrepancies and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices for SQL and PL/SQL development.
  • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for database procedures, structures and processes.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience working with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in a development environment.
  • Strong grasp of relational database concepts and SQL.
  • Proficiency in crafting complex SQL queries and refining them for performance.
  • Experience with PL/SQL programming, including the creation of stored procedures, functions, triggers and packages.
  • Familiarity with database design principles and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning techniques and tools for Oracle databases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience with Oracle 19c or later versions.
  • Understanding of database security practices and data integrity concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for database code management.
