Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer and Data Scientist to join our team at Optiv. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing Splunk environments to provide valuable insights and support business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Splunk Architecture and Design: Design and implement scalable and efficient Splunk architectures to meet the organization's data collection and analysis needs.
  • Data Ingestion: Configure and manage data ingestion pipelines to collect and process data from various sources, including applications, servers, and network devices.
  • Search and Analysis: Develop and optimize Splunk searches to extract meaningful insights from data, identify trends, and detect anomalies.
  • Reporting and Dashboards: Create custom reports and dashboards to visualize data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Alerting and Monitoring: Configure alerts and monitoring systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Splunk performance and ensure efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Splunk-related issues, providing technical support to users.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Splunk administration and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Splunk architecture, components, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL).
  • Experience with data ingestion and indexing from various sources.
  • Ability to develop and optimize Splunk searches for complex data analysis.
  • Knowledge of reporting and dashboard development tools.
  • Experience with alert and monitoring configurations.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (i.e., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Certification in Splunk administration or engineering.
