Data Scientist Role Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead and execute end-to-end advanced analytics projects, including data collection, preprocessing, model development, evaluation, and deployment.

  • You will design and develop predictive and generative models to extract actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Apply statistical techniques and quantitative analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Translate business problems into analytical solutions in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and domain SMEs.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices in experimentation, code quality, and documentation.
  • Stay current with advancements in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Generative AI, and recommend innovative solutions.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Masters or Ph.D. preferred.

  • A minimum of 4-8 years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ML techniques including supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in finance or banking domains.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for ML model deployment.
  • Contributions to the data science community (e.g., publications, open-source).
  • Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with vector databases.
