Senior Economist Job Description

This position is a senior-level role for an economist who will work on various projects related to economic modeling, data analysis, and visualization.

  • Develop and deploy advanced economic models, including CGE, Input/Output modeling, regression analysis, and forecasting.
  • Create supporting code to establish tailored modules for client requirements and develop templates for efficient model runs.
  • Produce reliable outputs in a consistent format, including presentations and dashboards, translating complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Gather, cleanse, and refine data inputs from various sources for model population.
  • Evaluate and maintain the performance of economic models to ensure they remain up-to-date and best-in-class.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling data visualizations and dashboards in Excel and Power BI.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging tools through ongoing education and professional development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, finance, or a related field, with minimum 6-9 years of experience creating and improving advanced financial models. They should also have demonstrated leadership experience, including managing client relationships and mentoring staff.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of economic modeling techniques, solutions, and data sources.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for learning and self-directed learning on technical subjects.
