Maritime Systems Engineering Role

The job description for this role involves working closely with data scientists to develop digital solutions for large container ships. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a ship digital twin to optimize fuel consumption and vessel performance.

  • Analyse container ship operations data to inform the development of digital twins.
  • Conceptualise the design and implementation of digital twins for large container vessels.
  • Identify relevant data required for digital twin development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop predictive models for parametric/synchronous rolling in rough sea weather conditions.
  • Diagnose hull fouling margins and engine power decomposition.
  • Analyse and interpret data to inform decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12-20 years of experience in naval architecture or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in conceptualising and building container vessel fuel consumption curves and hydrodynamic performance models.
  • Excellent understanding of data science subjects, including simulation, optimisation and machine learning models.
