Learning Support Specialist

Job Description:

The Learning Support Specialist plays a key role in enhancing the student experience by guiding learners through their learning journey.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, and excellent communication skills.

This is a full-time, remote position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to student inquiries via the learning management system and support software within 24 hours or less of submission
  • Rely on industry knowledge to guide students through complex assignments and questions
  • Provide prompt feedback that includes pointed questions to help learners build problem-solving skills
  • Work with learners who are new to the subject matter, as well as those with experience or further along in their careers
  • Suggest improvements to assigned Program Delivery Manager (PDM) and Designer to ensure content is communicated clearly and effectively
  • Communicate and collaborate with the team on a regular basis to enhance course delivery and solve unexpected challenges

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau)
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using Canvas or other related learning management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Slack and Teams as communication tools
  • Experience working with support/service software or ticketing systems
  • Experience with bug tracking and feedback tools
